&lt;P&gt;You are correct, there is currently no way to retrieve or check the eCheck return details through the&amp;nbsp;API.&amp;nbsp; It is necessary to log in and review these returns through the Authorize.Net&amp;nbsp;merchant interface.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;To issue a refund on an eCheck.Net® transaction, there must be funds available on your eCheck.Net settlement statement. You will generally see a transaction status of "Failed Review" when there are insufficient funds on the eCheck.Net Settlement Statement to cover an attempted refund for an eCheck.Net transaction.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please check this &lt;A href="http://www.authorize.net/support/merchant/Transaction_Response/Response_Reason_Codes_and_Response_Reason_Text.htm" target="_blank"&gt;link&lt;/A&gt; to see all the Authorize.Net response codes for both credit card and ACh or eCheck transactions.&lt;/P&gt;
