Newbie question

I am about to start a project where we need to collect credit card payments from an Azure/VB.NET/ASP.NET site. I need to have an idea of the scope of the process that starts at the payment button on our site, goes through the payment process, returning to our site with an OK/NotOK. In other words, I have no idea how much work it will be to integrate Authorize.net. One day? ten days? Can anyone help with some rough estimates please? So far I am assuming the SIM interface. Thanks.
