topic AIM and SSL certificate in Integration and Testing

I understand that AIM enforces a SSL secured site, and our main site does have SSL.

However, our main site is currently running "coming soon" page and thus all development is on a local server/machine, which we did not purchase a SSL certificate for. Though SSL is turned on on the development server.

Would this be okay when we are running the account under test mode?

For development, you don't even need a ssl cert for AIM.
