My client does not want to allow "American Express" transactions. How do I manage which card types are permitted?

Which API?

If the merchant account is not setup to accept American express, it will be declined.

We are using CNP. Authorize.NET is hosting the form. I do not see either in the documentation or in the account settings where to limit the acceptable card types.

My client does not want to allow American Express transactions. They should never be given the opportunity to be declined.

This documentation does not tell me if they can remove a payment type or not.

Hi pmenefee,

This is something that is done at the account level. If you are using a production gateway account please contact Support at 877-447-3938, for sandbox you can email developer@authorize.net with your Payment Gateway ID and we can disable American Express or any card types that you do not wish to take.
