Hi,

As per the SOAP API documentation for CIM, performing the transaction in testMode (validationMode) submits $1.00 transaction to verify CC number format is valid. Test transaction generated so will not appear on customer's CC statement but transaction receipt email is sent to the merchant

Query:

1. Can we use testMode in live production environment as we want to have validation on CC # format but do not want to mandate billTo address and billTo zip fields in transaction request as in liveMode?

2. Does the transaction receipt generated with testMode requires merchant to pay $1.00 per such transaction or is it just for information purpose?

Hi,

Our sandbox environment works just like production. You can run testMode validation in your production account and not pass the billTo address and billTo zip fields.

If you select testMode a $1.00 test transaction is submitted using the Luhn MOD 10 algorithm to verify that the credit card number is in a valid format. This test transaction does not appear on the customer's credit card statement, but it will generate and send a transaction receipt email to the merchant, the transaction ID will be 0 because this is not an actual charge against the customer's credit card.
