cert.pem for PHP SDK for prod and sandbox?

Thanks to all who have posted instructions about updating cert.pem in the PHP AIM SDK in order to connect to sandbox.

Will this same cert.pem connect to production? i.e., can I proactively upload this to my production site and it won't crash out before the same updates that are being applied to sandbox are applied to Authorize.net's production environment?

I realize that I can test this empirically, but am hoping to get an answer from someone smarter than me about certificates in order to avoid making any bone-headed mistakes. :)

Thanks!

Yes, this updated certificate will work in with production when updated.

Could you clarify that if I am to replace this cert on production *right now*, production would continue to work?
