Can we get an ETA on when Authorize.Net will support Encrypted USB Card Readers for computers?

After browsing the forums it appears that Authorize.Net has been "working" on this solution for well over a year now and yet their still doesn't appear to be any progress being made.

**Note: I'm not interested in any mobile solutions. i.e. tablet / phone adapters. I'm only looking for USB encrypted card readers for computers.

Yes, we still working on adding support for additional encrypted card readers. When these are fully tested and ready for developerts to begin integrations, we'll post updates here in the community and update the supported hardware page with the appropriate details.

Is there a particular make/model of device you wish to see supported?

I've been asking for the same thing for mobile...There are several years worth of responses that Authorize.net is working with "many" manufacturers to provide support for their readers. You would think that they would provide a roadmap / timeline for those companies' readers, at least the ones that were close to production ready support, in order to keep clients interested in the gateway.

As you may have seen from my post, I called support about manufacturer key injection support and did not get a satisfactory answer. When I raised a ticket, I received a more definitive answer and was also surprised to find out from the ticket response that there is an additional provider supported that is not listed on the supported reader page - Anywhere Commerce. One of their products is a USB reader for PCs. You may want to check it out.

Models I'd like to see supported. (I've personnaly used both readers with www.elementps.com and have found them to be very reliable)

I would really like to provide better information on a delivery date, but right now I simply don't have any more details.

As a developer, you are very familiar with how what seems like a firm delivery date can change for any number of factors. So rather than guess, we much prefer to give you concrete information as it becomes available.

I'm new to having to develop for POS so I want to make sure I'm understanding what @RichardH has said in a couple threads I've found. In order for our retail client (no web or mobile payments, only Ingenico POS terminals) to use authorize.net gateway, they must use one of only 2 encrypted card readers listed on your supported hardware page that you linked??? Surely I'm missing something here. How can you not have any retail readers?

I'd also like an update on this. The use of a cell phone and a cell phone app for Authorize.net is not suitable for the environment we're in. It would be more stable to have a USB device connected to the checkout computer, and with a very simple checkout program with which it could interface.

Seems that no new is the what is been given here .

I understand that USB card reader is not the priority but the market place has a need here.

Please repond with a timeline when this would be available. I have clients needing this today.

I, (as well as my clients), have been waiting since 2015 for Authorize.Net to have a USB encrypted card reader and/or USB Chip reader.

I just looked at the only listed USB and PC compatible device, (AnywhereCommerce Walker C2X), and I am unable to find clear answers to the following questions:

Does the device support being used directly through the USB cable?
- I actually just spoke directly with your partner, (POS Portal), and they stated that they do not have a solution that can be used by PC via USB cable...
  - Their chat rep was actually rather unhelpful and suddenly ended the chat before I had finished speaking. **Pretty annoyed at them for that**
  - To help you, and anyone else reading this, I have save my entire chat discussion with "POS Portal" to a PDF which can be accessed here: http://surferquest.com/jon/POS-Portal-Chat_AnywhereCommerce-Walker-C2X.pdf
Is the device's "Audio Jack" removable or can it fold / slide out of the way when not in use?

At this point I am very confused about what is or isn't possible with the C2X.

Can you offer any clarification?

Please accept our apologies for the customer support issue with our partner POS Portal. We have provided them feedback about your experience.

The Walker C2X device supports connectivity via micro USB. The port is located on the bottom of the device next to the audio jack port. The audio jack port does not fold out of the way, however, its placement does not interfere with the micro USB connection. We have given this improvement idea to our hardware vendors in the past.

Let us know if you have any other questions about integrating with this device.

yes, its happen from long time ago and now they update thing more valuble. You should check now.
