I want to verify that I can have same credit card on multiple customer profiles

In my testing, it appears that I am not allowed to have duplicate credit cards on the same customer profile, but I can have the same credit card on more than one customer profile. Is that correct?

I need it to work that way, so if it doesn't, I need to know.

And yes, the same credit card can be on more different customer profile.
