Getting Started - Making a Transaction

Hi! I'm new to this, but I'm trying to build a form in PHP which can perform simple checkouts. I need to provide custom fields and a custom cost.

I'm trying to get started, but I'm having some trouble. It seems all the sample code I find is incomplete and I'm having a hard time completing it. This GitHub link allows me to download Authorize starter files: https://github.com/AuthorizeNet/sample-code-php. I downloaded it and looked at the PHP files. I can't run them because it keeps giving me errors. They reference files which don't exist. Where do I get these files?

Also, is there a better way to do this? Is there simpler starter code with more steps I could follow which would spell it out?
