Validation Mode in production customer's account

Hi,

I know with the Validate Customer Payment Profile method you can set the validationMode to liveMode and this will do either a zero-dollar or one-cent test transaction to the card number is active.

My question is, does this post the customer bank account as a zero-dollar or one-cent pending charge? I have tested this and have not seen the transaction with a MasterCard. I know it incurs transaction fees but does / can the customer see it or does Authorize.Net submit the authorization and void right away?
