The main challenge here seems to be adding 3-D Secure without losing access to the existing CIM payment profiles. I’d first check whether Authorize.net has a supported way to use its existing customer profiles alongside a 3-D Secure authentication flow, rather than moving the stored profiles to another vault. With an older AbleCommerce installation, compatibility with the existing CIM integration would also be an important factor before choosing a third-party provider. I’m also working on MovieBox and have been dealing with integration and compatibility issues across different platforms, so I know how important it is to avoid breaking an existing setup.

Any Authorize.net Solution compatible with a 3d-secure implementation?

I have a client using a very old version of Ablecommerce (a Asp.Net Web Forms ecommerce platform) with an existing Authorize.net CIM integration that has several thousand saved payment profiles. Their web store currently uses a direct credit card payment form (not iframe).

My client now requires EMV 3-D Secure for their card payment transactions. What is the recommended integration path or API for Authorize.net CIM that preserves the existing payment profiles?

Also, is there a recommended third-party provider for 3d secure? It appears that CardinalCommerce is now part of Visa and they have disappeared them as a stand alone product.

I already researched using Cybersource as a replacement, and it does not appear that it would be possible to migrate the CIM payment profiles to Cybersource because they use a different vault.

Any help would be appreciated.

This is an interesting technical question, especially because adding EMV 3-D Secure to an older e-commerce platform can involve compatibility, security, and migration challenges. The existing CIM payment profiles also make the situation more complex, so carefully reviewing the current integration and available authentication options would be important before making changes. I appreciate how the question provides enough background about the platform and payment setup to encourage useful technical discussion. For students facing similarly complex academic projects, do my dissertation for me is a phrase they may encounter when exploring dissertation support, although understanding and following their institution’s academic integrity rules remains essential.

Integrating EMV 3-D Secure into a legacy platform can be challenging, especially when existing payment profiles are involved. I'd recommend reviewing the current integration and testing any changes carefully to ensure compatibility and maintain a smooth checkout experience.
