Mastercard / Partial Authorizations & Split Tenders Requirement

I wanted to note for everyone that the requirements from Mastercard, etc. for partial authorizations,

balance response, and authorization reversals are obligatory only to merchants in certain

specified MCC/SIC categories. See here:

The merchant market we serve is somewhat narrow and is not included in the list of MCC/SIC

codes that are required to comply.

As best practice, they and A.N seem to encourage complying now, but the specified market

segments are the only ones obligated to comply at this time.

The A.N web site implies that all merchants accepting Mastercard, etc. must comply, but this does

not appear to be true.

Hopefully this will save someone else some up-front development time and/or PA-DSS revalidation

costs.
