i think this works only for direct "replies", with no way to mention or tag other users.

Please try using @mention again. After you were experiencing issues, I checked the system and found an incorrectly set permission. It should now be corrected.

thanks for looking at this - it seems that now in the Rich Text editor, typing '@' proceeded by a user's handle offers a popup indicating the matching users.

testing this now, specifically, whether the user is notified...

hi @paul_westpier yes I recieved a notification email that I was "mentioned".

I love being "mentioned"!

ps: the comment about poor documentation was about the Lithium forum user documentation, or lack of it.
