I'm wanting to learn programming and got advised to choose some project and work for it. I really liked my little experience with c# (literally a small part of course in MS site). But I have so little understanding of programming overall that I don't understand what do you use C# and .NET for? I know that JS is for sites, for example, I know that you can use C# for unity and desktop apps, but what does "desktop apps" mean, any examples?
