CIM with a large number of records

I'm considering using CIM to store a large number of customer records. Two questions.

1. Will CIM handle approximately 500,000 customer records, each with payment and address details,

with good performance?

2. I intend to write a program to migrate customer data from my legacy database to CIM. Based on a quick test,

it takes about 0.2 second to complete the CIM API call to add a new customer record. At that rate, it will take dozens

of hours to migrate all my data to CIM. Any suggestions to speed this up?

Thanks,

Steve
