Developing a Google web app with Accept Hosted

I am interested in developing a solution that uses google apps script (GAS) in conjunction with Accept Hosted. In other words, instead of using PHP, I would use GAS to make the API calls.

I looked for documentation about this but couldn't find anything. I can use this code as a reference - https://github.com/AuthorizeNet/accept-sample-app/blob/master/getHostedPaymentForm.php but can you please provide any tips as I embark upon this task?

Has anyone tried this before and can share something that they found?
