Is it Ok to Use Silent Post With DPM?

I'm using DPM. I'm collecting customer data on two pages on my server. After the information is submitted, the customer sees the authorize.net hosted receipt. I'm not using relay response.

I am using a silent post link where I insert some of the customer data into a db.

Is it ok to use the silent post link in this situation?

The reason I'm asking this is because, in various places on authorize.net, I've read that the silent post link is usually not used with DPM. I think this is because most people using DPM are also using relay response rather than hosted receipt. Therefore they can insert to a db on the receipt page. No need for silent post when using relay response.

So, I just want to make sure there is no  other reason that silent post should not be used with DPM.

Is it ok to use silent post with DPM when there is a need for the silent post, as in my case where I'm using the hosted receipt? When using the hosted receipt, I can see no other way except silent post to insert to a db.
