Hi
I have a MySQL server on CentOS running multiple databases. The mysql data directory is the default directory of /var/lib/mysql in that directory the databases are symlinked to other locations (I have a LVM for each db, mounted on specefic folders).
I need to move some (not all) of the databases to another location, for archive pupose, running on cheaper storage. I therefore would like to flush and lock SPECIFIC databases, in order to be able to copy/move the database files to a new location, and change the symlink.
I don't want to lock all databases as I'm running production on the MySQL server, and obviously I don't wan't to stop the mysql service either. Is it possible to 'lock' / Stop specefic databases? Please advise.
/Steffen
