Hello Authorize.NET Community,
I have been experiencing issues with Authorize.NET Sandbox with PayPal integration.
I have followed all recommended setup steps for enabling the PayPal integration and I am attempting to process authorize and capture payments. Production integration is working fine, only the Sandbox is impacted with error code 19 ( communication error ). There are no additional logs provided in the Authorize.NET Sandbox UI.
It appears this started happening in Sandbox environment shortly after April 2026. We have tried re-authing with existing Sandbox account and even tried creating new PayPal sandbox business account, nothing seems to work.
After much back and forth with support team I am at a loss and I do not understand what we are doing incorrectly on our end. The PayPal account does not have any log or error log entries which implies that api communication is not making it through the PayPal. So I believe the issue may be on the Authorize.NET end. The support team is mentioning that the integration works fine and not providing any helpful feedback ( e.g. additional logs or what might be going wrong )
The PayPal setup and functionality is on their end, so I cannot tell what exactly is going wrong and I have no control over fixing it.
Has anyone experienced similar issues recently or does anyone have suggestions? I have tried just about everything working with AI, the docs and my knowledge of Authorize.NET.
