Hey! Just a quick heads up this community is mainly for Cybersource payment APIs, so you probably won’t find support here for downloading YouTube audio. Cybersource doesn’t offer any API for that.

If you’re looking to download audio from YouTube, you’d need to explore tools or services built specifically for that purpose and of course, make sure it aligns with YouTube’s terms and policies.

Hope that helps

Can anyone recommend a free API for legal YouTube audio downloads?

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a website that allows users to extract audio from YouTube videos when they have the necessary rights or permission to use the content.

I’m currently using an API for this, but it has stopped working reliably. Does anyone know of a free or low-cost API that supports this type of use and is reasonably reliable?

I’m mainly looking for something suitable for legal and authorized content, with clear usage limits and documentation.

I’d appreciate any recommendations from people who have worked with a similar setup.

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you're specifically looking for an API for authorized YouTube content, I'd recommend checking the API's current terms, documentation,  and usage limits before switching. For projects involving other platforms, I’ve also been working with video and audio downloader tools, including Kuaishou/Kwai content, so I’ve found that reliability can vary a lot between third-party APIs.

For YouTube, I’d stick with a provider that clearly supports legal/authorized downloads and has stable documentation rather than choosing an API simply because it is free.
