CIM Ecommerce Integration with 3dcart and

As ecommerce websites move towards PCI compliance -- either by investing in home grown solutions or by migrating to hosted, PCI-compliant ecommerce platforms -- many businesses run into limitations associated with securely storing payment information when there is a need to perform additional transactions. To help businesses overcome these challenges, many of the major payment providers have started implementing Tokenization options into their systems.

3dcart, a SaaS ecommerce platform, has long recognized this problem and has leveraged’s Customer Information Manager (CIM) in an effort to offer payment tokenization to merchants and their shoppers while also offering innovative ecommerce add ons to 3dcart-powered stores.

The out-of-the-box CIM integration supports customer profiles that include billing and payment. With the shoppers' sensitive payment information being stored on’s secure servers, 3dcart allows merchants to simplify the payment process for returning customers.  By using the Advanced Integration Method (AIM) during checkout, the ecommerce solution allows shoppers the choice of creating an account and generating a CIM customer profile; thereby allowing them to use the card on file for return visits.  Furthermore, the CIM integration also grants merchants the ability to process future transactions as needed.

With CIM integration in place, ecommerce stores get access to the following features:

  • Use Card on File: After shoppers complete the checkout process for the first time in a new e-store, they will have the option to keep their credit card information on file for future use.

  • Virtual Terminal Transactions: For merchants, CIM further grants the ability to apply additional charges or credits to the card on file for the customer -- directly from 3dcart’s admin interface.

  • Autoship: An additional service that provides shoppers the option of subscribing for recurring orders that are automatically shipped at their convenience.  Learn more about 3dcart’s Autoship solution.

  • Checkout Upsell: Another additional service which displays product specific upsell items after final checkout. With it, a special upsell page will display for shoppers before the final "Thank You" page offering additional items for purchase.  If upsell items are selected, an additional transaction is generated on the order with the use of the’s CIM. Working together with, 3dcart is effectively able to save e-shoppers time by providing a completely secure, streamlined checkout process. Additionally, ecommerce merchants are able to expand their services and offerings to their customers while maintaining PCI-compliance.  None of this would be possible, however, without the help of’s Customer Integration Manager (CIM), a feature that is quickly becoming a must have for successful e-store owners.

My developer mentioned this cart. We are making sure that we are PCI compliant. He also mentioned Stitch but I'm not quite sure what that it yet.

This cart was suggested by my developer. We're doing all we can to meet PCI requirements. Also, he brought up the word "Stitch," which I'm not quite sure means.
