Can AI tools make API integration easier?

Hey devs,

With all the buzz around AI lately, I started wondering if it could actually help us with API integrations—especially for platforms like Authorize.net or CyberSource. We're talking about automating the boilerplate, generating endpoint handlers, or even drafting error-checking logic.

I gave one free AI tool a try, and while the code it generated wasn't production-ready, it did provide a neat foundation. What really cracked me up was a cheeky in-code comment it threw in—it wasn’t brilliant, but it made the boilerplate feel a bit more human. Plus, it shaved off some repetitive typing time.

So I’m curious:

Have you ever tried AI for API integration tasks—maybe generating client wrappers, validation layers, or webhook processors?

Did it genuinely save you development time, or did you spend more effort cleaning it up afterward?

Are there any free tools out there that surprisingly punch above their weight?

Would love to hear your take—especially any funny or surprisingly clever bits AI ever suggested in your code.

Yes, AI tools can definitely make API integration easier. Tools like ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot help generate boilerplate code—wrappers, error handling, endpoints, etc. It’s not always production-ready, but it saves time and gives you a good starting point. One time it added: Hope this works — felt relatable  As for free tools, ChatGPT (free tier) has worked well for me so far.
