We are using a Magtek credit card reader as input to the credit card field on WooCommerce POS. However, when we swipe the card two leading characters like B% are displayed. Where is the modification made to truncate those uneeded marks for processing?

By default, sentinels are enabled and transmitted. To modify the default settings of a USB Magtek reader on a Windows machine, for example, see below.
First you would need to download and install the demo application from:
http://www.magtek.com/support/software/demo_programs/usb_swipe_insert.asp
Once installed run the application and attach the MSR device. Once the device is detected follow the directions below.
To disable sentinels:
1. In the orange highlighted area check “Auto Add Length” and then in the line below enter: 01 14 03 and select “Send Msg”.
To enable sentinels:
1. In the orange highlighted area check “Auto Add Length” and then in the line below enter: 01 14 63 and select “Send Msg”.
You will then get a response from the device informing you that the command was successful.
After the command has been sent you will need to power cycle the device.
