I have a test card (5130405452262903) that should always yield a declined status in Test Mode. However, the transaction request always gets approved and the transaction status turns into Captured/Pending Settlement. After the transaction is finished settling, the status is then changed to Declined. Is there a way to not approve the request for declined cards?

Hi kduong,
There are no card numbers that will generate a decline in Test Mode. In fact, nothing in Test Mode will decline. If you are looking to generate specific responses in the Sandbox environment (not Production), please find the list of trigger values in the Testing Guide.

Elaine

The testing guide says to use a zip code of 46282 to generate a "Decline" response, however when using a Customer Payment Profile with that zip code transactions are still getting approved. How do we actually test a decline response?
