Holding Funds on a transaction until we review and approve the transaction

Do I understand the process correctly? When I make a transaction using a credit card - does authroize.net hold the funds (yes i know depending on the bank) then once the order is approved, completed and the product has shipped does it charge the Credit card?

Yes, all other banks process the same way.
