For one of my customer, around 15 payments moved to in review status on 9th dec 2025, due to the immediate charge card transactions followed by authorize card transaction(time gap is less than a sec) are failed due to error code '<errorCode>16</errorCode><errorText>The transaction cannot be found.</errorText>' even the authorize transaction id passed as reference transaction id properly. We found all these payments related to Visa, Master Card types and saved card payments mostly.
Below are other charge transaction response details <responseCode>3</responseCode>, <transId>0</transId>.
Please let us know the root cause of this error ASAP to assist my customers.

Error Code -16 occurs when the reference transaction cannot be found by the gateway, usually due to timing issues with immediate follow-up transactions. In your case, authorizing and charging the card almost simultaneously caused the gateway to not recognize the reference ID. To resolve this, add a brief delay between authorize and capture (or subsequent) transactions, ensure the reference transaction ID is correctly passed, and verify that the transactions are fully processed in the gateway before initiating related actions. This prevents transient “transaction not found” errors.
