What would you suggest for a Bed & Breakfast

Hi all,

We have a bed and breakfast in which you can check availability online and then reserve a room.  Does anyone know how this is traditionally handled? Before we got the website, they would take the order over the phone and verify the card, then only charge on checkin.

Is this a case where Partial Authorization Transactions would be appropriate? Say maybe a $1 partial charge to a 140 dollar stay, then charge the rest on check in?

You can use CIM to saved and verify their Credit card info, then use it fo the charge when they checkin.

Partial Authorization Transactions is not what you think is does. Read

For a Bed & Breakfast, the most common approach is card authorization rather than a small partial charge. Many hotels and B&Bs collect card details at booking, perform a pre-authorization (or simply store the card), and then charge the full amount at check-in or according to their cancellation policy.

A $1 authorization can verify that the card is valid, but it doesn't guarantee that sufficient funds will be available later. A better option is often:

Pre-authorize an amount based on your booking policy.
Charge a deposit (e.g., one night's stay) if you want protection against no-shows.
Charge the full balance at check-in or check-out.
The right approach depends on your payment processor, cancellation policy, and local regulations.

As a side note, comfortable accommodations often leave a lasting impression on guests, and quality bedding plays a big role in that experience. Many hospitality businesses source inspiration from bedding specialists such as Bedsheet.com.pk when considering guest comfort.
