All existing Authorize.Net Card Not Present (CNP) accounts, including all sandbox accounts, now have the ability to process both CNP and Card Present (CP) transactions. This new enhancement will be particularly useful for your omni-commerce merchants, including those who want to use the Authorize.Net mPOS app with an encrypted card reader to qualify for lower CP rates.
Note: Merchants using Authorize.Net’s Virtual Point of Sale (VPOS) must still use a dedicated CP account.
Additional fields are required to submit CP transactions through a CNP account. Please refer to the updated integration guides for more information.
Encrypted Card Readers for the Authorize.Net mPOS Mobile App
Merchants using the Authorize.Net mPOS application for iOS and Android can now use our encrypted card readers to process mobile transactions. These readers are available for purchase through our partner, POS Portal.
Important: In order for merchants to qualify for CP rates for these transactions, they will need to contact their Merchant Service Providers (MSP) to make sure that their merchant accounts are set up for CP processing.
The mobile SDKs for iOS and Android have also been updated to support the new encrypted card readers and include sample apps, offering you the flexibility to create your own encrypted mobile solution. Watch our video here for helpful tips on integrating mobile payments.
