Authorization Reversals

Hi everyone,

We are looking for a provider that passes through Authorization Reversals to the issuing bank. Our hotel takes authorizations at the beginning of the stay. At check out, we may charge it or void the authorization. If we use your service, what will happen in these conditions:

1.) $100.00 Authorization at the beginning of the stay. It is not used. At check out, if we submit a "void" on the authorization, is that passed through to the issuing bank in real-time?

2.) $100.00 Authorization at the beginning of the stay. Their bill was $50.00. At check out, if we convert the $100.00 authorization to a $50.00 Sale, would you send a $50.00 Sale and the remaining $50.00 authorized as a partial reversal?

1)The void transaction is process in real time, but the released of the fund is depend on the issuing bank.

2)There can only be one Prior Authorization and Capture transaction for each auth_only transaction. Once it done, it done, again same as 1), the released is depend on the issuing bank.

Thanks Raynor! We want to find a service that will provide authorization reversals in real-time. If the bank releases later, that's ok. As long as we are submitting them in accordance with new rules, where an auth reversal is done after 20 days (effective 11/1/2013) or auth reversal is never done after 120 days (effective 2/17/2014) (a penalty of 4.5 cents per occurance in either case), then we are covered!
