Creating a new CIM customer over SIM

I am transitioning a customer from Simple Checkout to SIM, and have learned that they use customers inside the customer information manager to manage repeated payments.

Am I able to register them as a customer when submitting a SIM transaction?  I have searched the documentation and cannot find any reference to it either way.

You register the customer in CIM and submit a CIM transactions with the saved CC#.

Yes, if you have a CIM profile and billing profile already, you can just have an automated routine run every morning and generate any necessary charges against profiles coming due. You wouldn't use SIM for that, there's no need to involve the customer (unless the credit card declines, in which case they need to update their profile...)
