Is the Authorize.Net API Officially Supported? If so, how?
Here's a support case I took up with Authorize.Net, and it left me frustrated and confused about how to best get support when issues crop up, especially if they involve the API.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TROY:
I am having a problem with the Authorize.Net API. When my web application goes to request a new access access token at https://access.authorize.net/oauth/v1/token, posting in grant_type=refresh_token&refresh_token=(my refresh token hidden for privacy)&client_id=(client id hidden for privacy)&client_secret=(my client secret hidden for privacy)
The API endpoint responds with:
{"response":{"rmsg":"Internal System Error"}}
My website has been working for years, but as of earlier today, itโs stopped dead in its tracks.
This is also affecting all of my clients who are also using my web application, so time is of the essence!!!

AUTHORIZE.NET:
Hello Troy,
Thank you for reaching out to Authorize.Net. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with the OAuth. We'd be glad to look in to this with you.
I would suggest going through this API Documentation with regards to OAuth: https://developer.authorize.net/api/reference/features/oauth.html
You may need to contact your Web developer or software provider regarding any scripting issues.
Unfortunately, while we are always more than happy to help where we can, we can only provide limited technical support via this channel as we are not trained developers. With that being said, I would also like to let you know that you could always post to our Developer Forums. We have hundreds of developers onsite, including our Developer Evangelist, available that can help review and provide some guidance. You can find these forums by following the link below:

or
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/authorize.net
I hope this information helps! We appreciate you doing business with us. Have a great day!
Keep in mind you can use our free Invoicing feature to send email invoices to your customers to request payment. Details are available here: https://support.authorize.net/knowledgebase/Knowledgearticle/?code=000002359.
If the information provided above satisfies your needs, please close this Support Case. Otherwise, please add an update to this Support Case with your follow-up questions so I can further assist you. TROY:
Hi Rona,
I'm the software developer of my website. I built it about 5 years ago. It's been working fine right up until this afternoon.
So are you saying that the Authorize.Net API is not officially supported? Or are you saying that the Authorize.Net API is only officially supported via the forums?

AUTHORIZE.NET:
Hello Troy,
Appreciate your response.
I referred you to the link for the developer forums to see if there are other developers who've had the same issue as yours and see what changes they have made to resolve the issue. As far as I know, there isn't any communications that something has changed or been updated on our end that may cause the issue. I checked our status page, no incident reported on our API connection. You may also view this at https://status.authorize.net/
You may also go through the OAut API documentation I shared earlier. Again unfortunately we are not trained developers that can examine scripts. I hope the references I provided you can help.

TROY:
I've searched the forums, but no one has reported this issue yet. I asked on the forums. Is asking on the forums the *OFFICIAL* way that the API is officially supported? Or is the API NOT OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED? (You missed this in my previous question.)
