I am currently building an accommodation booking application for a client of mine and I'm have a question regarding the payments processing end of the application. In the case of many of the major players in the accommodation market, once a room is booked they are able to transfer the credit card details to the accommodation provider concerned. i.e. if a Hotel room is booked, a notification is sent to the accommodation provider, where they can log into a secure location in order to view the payment details. Accommodation providers such as hotels will not hold a room unless they have a valid credit card.
Is this type of system the reserve of major accommodation giants such as Expedia or can a similar system be established for my clients.
