What Is It?

The REST SDK that we host on GitHub(https://github.com/CyberSource/cybersource-rest-client-java) for Java language currently supports Java version 8. We are updating it to now also support higher versions of Java runtime 11, 17 & 19.

Audience

Any customer that currently use the REST Client SDK in Java language

Details

The REST Java SDK use to support only Java 8. With newer versions of Java, especially with long term support, we have enhanced the client SDK such that although it is built with Java 8, & tested using LTS versions Java 11, Java 17 and Java 19, but it is guaranteed to work on all Java versions up to and including Java 19.

What Do I Have To Do?

If you have a need to use higher version of Java, download the latest Java SDK https://github.com/CyberSource/cybersource-rest-client-java/releases/tag/cybersource-rest-client-jav.... If you choose not to, an older SDK version you have will continue to run, however only on Java 8.

Which version will support this ?

REST Client Java SDK (https://github.com/CyberSource/cybersource-rest-client-java/releases/tag/cybersource-rest-client-jav...) version starting 0.0.54, that has been released in June 2023.

Upgrading your Java version but still using the old SDK is like trying to play a 4K video on MX Player that only supports SD — it might run, but you’ll miss out on performance. For the smooth experience, click here and update your SDK today!
