The ability to set the soft descriptors for a transaction.

These are the fields that a customer sees on their statements, it allows for the customer to quickly ID the transactions reducing disputes and customer service.  For obvious reasons I hope.

Dynamic Descriptors include:

Business Name

Phone (Best Practices says this should be a Customer service number)

City and/or State

Need the ability to modify the soft descriptor that shows up on customers credit card statements per API call. For us we need to be able to submit transactions via the API from different company names we have using our one auth.net account and want the customer credit card statement to show which company creating the transaction, not our main company name in authorize.net

This idea is per the forum thread asking for the same thing, here:

According to a reply from January 2014, this is supposedly on their enhancement list, but according to RichardH, it does not have a scheduled release date. Please vote it up, folks and maybe we can get a date from them!

I've merged these two suggestions, thanks to everyone who submitted the idea.

You are losing a customer of ours to a competitor because you don't support this feature. They are giving up both the ability to process ACH and recurring billing transactions to get this feature.

We plan to support Soft Descriptors when supported by the processors we connect to, and have plans to add support for TSYS and Global Payments.

Very excited to hear about this moving forward. :) Do we have a rough idea of when in 2015 we might see support for Soft Descriptors on TSYS and Global Payments?
