I have researched this quite a bit, and I can't find any way to make an ARB API call without the credit card info passing through my network. I know about CIM, and that is great. But let's say I have a simple $10 per month subscription. The price won't change and I want Authnet to automatically charge the card $10 each month. ARB is perfect for that, but the initial card charge, I believe, goes through my network. It's not a hosted form. To achieve this with CIM I'd have to create an automated cron job to charge the right amount at the right time each month, etc, because authnet won't do that automatically for CIM like it will for ARB.
Am I wrong? Is there a way to simply use ARB and avoid all PCI issues?

No. Not unless you use a hosted method for the first charge (SIM) and then manually create the ARB subscription in the control panel based off that charge.
